The George C. Marshall Foundation is now accepting open submissions for publication in its flagship magazine, MARSHALL.

Articles must meet the following criteria:

  • Limit of 2,500 words
  • Adhere to Chicago Manual of Style
  • Centered on the following subjects:
    • George C. Marshall
      • Moments in career
      • Relationships with colleagues
      • Personal life
      • Leadership and managerial style
      • Relevance to current events
    • Related U.S. history between 1898 and 1959
      • Military
      • Diplomatic
      • Cultural (if appropriate, e.g. the cultural impact of Elvis Presley’s army service on his music and image, but not a general overview of his music)
  • Written for a general audience

Priority will be given to articles with high-quality photo illustrations and cutlines. Word format (.docx, .odt, .rtf) is strongly preferred.

Submitting an article does not guarantee publication in a future issue of MARSHALL. The editor will contact you directly once a decision is made about publication.
