The George C. Marshall Foundation Humanitarian Award is presented to individuals or organizations to recognize significant humanitarian service, create public awareness of their accomplishments, and encourage others to follow their example.

Mr. Rubenstein received the award at a black-tie gala held on November 11, 2019, at the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC. Mr. Rubenstein was recognized for his philanthropic support of educational initiatives in the D.C. public schools, at Duke University, and at other institutions of higher learning, as well as for his tireless efforts to preserve and render more accessible the history of our republic.
