General James C. McConville was the 40th Chief of Staff of the United States Army, leading n organization of 1.2 million personnel with an annual budget of over $185 billion and operations in over 140 countries. Jim led combat units from the platoon to the division level and was the longest serving commander of the 101st Airborne Division. He is an Operating Partner for AE Industrial Partners and a board director for their portfolio companies.

Jim’s ethical and forward-thinking leadership transformed the Army’s cutting edge of talent management, modernization, and crisis management. He led it through countless challenges, including COVID response, natural disaster support, and global force deployments. His ability to foster international relationships with allies increased the cooperation, presence, and reputation of the United States in the global arena.

A Quincy, Massachussetts native, Jim earned a BS degree from the United States military Academy, an MS in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, and was a 2002 Senior Military Fellow at Harvard University. He is married and has three children who all currently serve in the Army.
