Many centers and institutes around the country were an outgrowth of a 19th century quest to concentrate research endeavors. Today these centers and institutes face different audiences who live in an online world reflecting 21st century technology and communications, where messages emanate from many sources—amplified by the powers of digitization. This panel will explore how these technologies and communications have impacted how these centers and institutes operate.

This panel will be broadcast on C-SPAN.
