Starting in 1946, an international team backed by the Rockefeller Foundation and UNRRA, with funds supplied by the Italian government, set out to spray repeatedly every swamp, stream and structure on the island with DDT. The people of Sardinia, whose health and initiative had been sapped by malaria since time immemorial, soon discover new energy to build a better life.1950. Directed by Peter Baylis.
