Leadership with Integrity at the Insitute for Honor The Marshall Foundation together with Washington and Lee University and the Virginia Military Institute kicked off the two-day conference on “Leadership with Integrity: The Character and Career of George C. Marshall.” The participants registered Feb. 25, 2005, at the Marshall Foundation. The Conference was part of Washington and Lee University’s Institute for Honor, established in 2001 by the Washington and Lee Class of 1960. The keynote address entitled “General George C. Marshall,” was presented by David Abshire, President, Center for the Study of The Presidency. Other speakers at the conference included Dr. Larry I. Bland, Director, Marshall Papers Project at the Marshall Foundation, and Brigadier General Charles F. Brower, IV, Dean of the Faculty at Virginia Military Institute. Program participants had the opportunity to meet in small group discussions designed to explore issues and questions raised by the speakers.
