The George C. Marshall Army ROTC Award Seminar
Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, Gen. Bernard Rogers and Marshall Foundation Trustee Gen. Maxwell Taylor (Ret.) agreed to "the establishment of an annual George C. Marshall Award for outstanding members of the Army ROTC." Since 1977, the Marshall Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Army, has brought close to 9,500 outstanding college seniors to the Foundation to receive the Marshall ROTC Award and participate in the Marshall Seminar on the National Security of the United States. Cadets are selected by the cadre of their college or university Army ROTC Detachment as the outstanding Army ROTC cadet for the year on the basis of integrity, leadership, scholarship, duty and physical conditioning.
Award winners attend the three-day seminar that focuses on National Security issues. During that time cadets hear from subject matter experts who come to the Seminar from academia, Department of Defense and other agencies of the federal government. The seminar consists of open and non-attributable discussions.
The Seminar seeks to inspire exceptional young men and women to embody the timeless values of selfless service, character, ethics, leadership, and citizenship personified by George C. Marshall.
